POSITION SUMMARY


Pacer Corporation is currently looking for 2 Heavy Duty Field Mechanics (Journeyman). This is a camp position with fly-in-fly out benefits. Shift rotations will be 20/8 rotation.

Responsibilities: 

The responsibilities of the Heavy Duty Field Mechanic include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain and repair the mobile equipment
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Service attachments and working tools such as winches and side booms
  • Dissemble and reassemble components such as  engines, transmissions , cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems with the appropriate tools
  • Check bulldozers, cranes, graders and other heavy construction, agricultural, logging and mining equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Ordering Parts
  • Keeping maintenance reports and documentation

Safety

  • Ensure that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by corporate safety manual, Workers’ compensation board and other authorities
  • Help contribute to a positive and safe culture with a target for zero incidents
  • Become familiar with Supervision and Worker Responsibilities outlined in the Pacer Health and Safety Manual

Requirements

  • 3+ Years of experience as a Heavy Duty Field Mechanic is required
  • Crane and drill experience is an asset
  • Must have valid operator certification as approved by Alberta and Industry Training. Including Journeyman red seal/interprovincial certification.
  • Must have CIVP Certificate
  • Clean driving record
  • CSTS certificate
  • Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Strong work ethic
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally
