Responsibilites:
HSE Performance
- Maintain Visible Safety Leadership expectation.
- Maintain a safe and unobstructed work area, practice good safety behaviors, use appropriate safety equipment and conduct safety meetings.
- Ensure all direct reports, including contractors, know and fulfill their health, safety, and environment responsibilities.
- Ensure the crew operates in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, such as the 12 Life-Saving Rules.
- Ensure compliance with FIM’s for self/direct reports. Report all incidents through Fountain Incident Management (FIM).
Cost Excellence
- Deliver on annual budget of approx $30-$40 M.
- Be held accountable to operate the assigned Tailings Operations area within the assigned budget allocations.
- Participate in and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve the cost effectiveness of the Tailings Operation with a focus on D074.
Operational Excellence
- Responsible for the delivery of D074 compliance as part of the tailings operations organization and operating all its related current and future technologies.
- Deliver D74 Operations target on annual MRM AFD fines targets for both MRM and JPM mines.
- A key member of the CT Plant commissioning team and deliver on the D74 Operational target on annual fines captured by CT technology.
- Operations of JPM Centrifuge Scope
- Improve on the fines captured through the JPM TT technology
People Management
- Manage the development of direct reports and build towards a high performing team.
- Strive towards 0% unsupported absenteeism and manage underperformance where necessary.
- Front Line Leader development and mentoring to team leaders.
Requirement:
- Engineering Degree
- Eligible to register for professional engineering designation through APEGA
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- AMSA Certification
- Minimum Number of Years of Related Oil Sands Work Experience Required: 5
- Minimum Number of Years in the Mining Industry: 10
- Working knowledge of tailings operational activities, process applications (CT, AFD/TRO, centrifugation), Mine operational activities an asset.
- Knowledge of piping, hydraulic systems, heavy equipment operating such as loaders, dozers, graders, trucks, side booms, and other mobile equipment would be an asset.
- Excellent cost and contract management skills,
- Working knowledge of tailings cell and in-pit dyke construction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed leadership skills and self-discipline.
- Required to work in a flexible team environment.
- Expected to maintain a high HSSE focus and culture.
- Change Management and resourcing skills.
- Computer knowledge such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, FIM system, etc would be an asset.
